Our Story
We met the old-fashioned way, on Match.com, in the summer of 2012. Chris had been on the site for months and gone on about 40 dates. Bailey had just joined and Chris was her second date ever.
On August 1, 2012, we met at a restaurant called Tavolino in Foxborough, MA for our first date. Traffic was bad and we were both a little stressed and late, but once we sat down, we ended up talking for hours.
Eventually we moved to another bar where Bailey's friend Courtney was working as a waitress and brought us free tater tots. Neither of us was very hungry, but Bailey felt bad wasting them. So she went to the bathroom and challenged Chris to "eat 5 of these tater tots before I come back." But Chris severely underestimated how fast Bailey would be back and she found him frantically shoving tater tots in his mouth when she returned.
Tidbits
When did it get serious?
Chris hates labels. But, a few dates in, he wanted Bailey to be his girlfriend and asked if we should "put a label on this." Bailey said sure and asked what label he was thinking about. Chris said, "Duke and Duchess?" It made Bailey laugh so it stuck.
What's your favorite activity together?
We love to travel. We've been to California, Arizona, Atlanta, Nashville, Denver, the Swiss Alps, Paris, Iceland, London, Scotland, Germany, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands and Belgium, with so many more places left to visit!
Where are you going for your honeymoon?
A "mini-moon" to Sonoma, CA (our happy place) right after the wedding, then a longer trip to Portugal in the spring of 2027.
Who's that little gentleman in the photo?
His name is Hercules Mulligan, the love of our life!
How did the proposal happen?
We were in New York City in the summer of 2025 for a long weekend trip. One morning, Chris suggested they stop at Jefferson Market Garden in Greenwich Village on the way to brunch. The garden was quiet and secluded — despite being right in the heart of the city. Bailey walked a bit ahead on the path, looking at flowers. Chris called her name. She turned around. He was on one knee with the ring and holding out a piece of paper, which had the lyrics to their song ('Shut Up and Dance') on it... with a little twist: 'Don't you dare look back, just keep your eyes on me. I said, You're holding back. He said shut up and marry me.'
